Oviedo GroundWorks is based in Oviedo, Florida and works across Seminole, Orange, Volusia, Lake and Brevard counties. Landon Thomas has worked in trenching and excavation since 1986 and has decades of experience in construction, including work for the Department of Defense at Homestead Air Force Base. He has also worked on national park projects including the Everglades and Biscayne, excavating across the islands for communications equipment. We handle land clearing, excavation, trenching, forestry mulching and drainage contouring.
Our Mission Is Your Vision
Most property owners know the result they want before they know the method. We walk the site, determine the equipment and sequence required, and provide a fixed quote.
Our Equipment
We own and operate our machines. Nothing on a job site is rented that morning, and no part of the work is handed to another crew.
Ride-On Chain Trencher
The primary trenching machine - a chain-and-boom trencher with an integrated backfill blade, sized for residential and light commercial runs. It cuts a consistent trench and backfills on the same pass, which is why most residential jobs finish in a day.
CAT Compact Excavator
A rubber-tracked mini excavator with a dozer blade. Narrow enough to fit through a residential gate, heavy enough to pull palm and oak stumps out of Central Florida sand. This is the machine on most of our land clearing and site prep work.
Truck & Equipment Trailer
A Ram crew cab and flatbed trailer. We haul our own machines, so scheduling your job does not depend on a transport company's calendar.
Landon Thomas & Mission Work in Africa
Landon Thomas owns and operates Oviedo GroundWorks. Outside of the work he does here in Central Florida, he has volunteered his time and his ground work skills with African Missions For Christ Worldwide, clearing land in Africa so the mission had usable ground to build on.
It is the same work you would hire us for at home. Clear the growth, take out the roots, leave ground that someone can actually put a building or a garden on.
Questions About Working With Us
Who will show up to my property?
Landon Thomas. He quotes the job, runs the machine and closes it out. There is no estimator handing your job to a crew you have not met.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry liability insurance and provide a certificate before work begins, without you having to ask for it. We are not a licensed contractor, so we stick to ground work.
Do you rent your equipment?
No. The trencher, the compact excavator and the truck and trailer are ours. That is why we can schedule a job without waiting on a rental yard or a transport company.
What areas do you cover from Oviedo?
A 60-mile radius from Oviedo, which covers Seminole, Orange, Volusia, Lake and Brevard counties. Call if your town sits near the edge of that and we will confirm it.
