The primary trenching machine - a chain-and-boom trencher with an integrated backfill blade, sized for residential and light commercial runs. It cuts a consistent trench and backfills on the same pass, which is why most residential jobs finish in a day.
CAT Compact Excavator
A rubber-tracked mini excavator with a dozer blade. Narrow enough to fit through a residential gate, heavy enough to pull palm and oak stumps out of Central Florida sand. This is the machine on most of our land clearing and site prep work.
Truck & Equipment Trailer
A Ram crew cab and flatbed trailer. We haul our own machines, so scheduling your job does not depend on a transport company's calendar.
Trenching Contractor FAQs
How deep does a water line trench need to be in Florida?
Florida does not have a frost line to work around, so depth is driven by code and by protecting the line from traffic and future digging. Typical residential water service runs shallower here than in northern states. Your local building department sets the requirement and we trench to it.
Do trenching contractors handle utility locates?
We do. Sunshine 811 is called before every job and we wait out the required marking window. The call is free, it is Florida law, and it takes a few days, so factor that into your schedule when you book.
How long does a trenching job take?
Most residential runs are same-day work. Longer runs, hard access, and rock or root obstruction extend it. You get a timeframe with the quote once we have walked the route and seen what the machine has to get through.
Can you trench in sandy soil without the walls collapsing?
Yes - it is most of what we trench. Loose Central Florida sand does slough more than clay, which affects how long a trench can safely stay open and how it gets backfilled. That is a reason to use a trenching contractor who works this ground regularly.
